How Humanoid Robots Are Moving into Real-World Industrial Applications

Yesterday afternoon, I had the opportunity to visit Shenzhen-based robotics unicorn PaXini Tech together with several experts in human-machine interaction. The visit gave me a deeper perspective on the current state of humanoid robotics.
Although photography was strictly prohibited in the showroom for confidentiality reasons, the live demonstrations of humanoid robots and cobots in complex application scenarios were particularly impressive.
During the technical deep dive, the Technical Manager gave us a detailed overview of PaXini’s core capabilities:
1️⃣ A data acquisition system based on multidimensional tactile sensors.
2️⃣ Cross-platform data utilization / Cross-Embodiment, which can significantly improve the generalization capability of Embodied AI models.
3️⃣ A full-stack solution covering the entire chain from perception and intelligence to execution.
What impressed me most, however, was not the technology alone, but the team’s strong sense of pragmatism and down-to-earth approach—qualities that cannot be taken for granted in today’s technology landscape.
Instead of getting carried away by the hype currently surrounding AI, the Technical Manager spent considerable time discussing just how demanding real-world implementation actually is.
He spoke openly about the pain points involved in deploying Embodied AI in industrial environments, as well as the physical limitations the technology still faces today.
This unfiltered and realistic view of industrial challenges is refreshing. Anyone working in deep tech and hardware knows that solving the final 1% of real-world edge cases often requires 99% of the effort.
It is remarkable that the company was only founded in 2021 and is already valued at more than RMB 18 billion.
PaXini’s rapid rise illustrates one thing from my perspective: in the demanding deep-tech sector, the market ultimately rewards those who combine technological excellence with pragmatism and a willingness to address real industrial challenges.
