Intelligence Goes Beyond the Robot Body

This week, our team visited APLUX in Chengdu, a company specializing in On-Device AI, Edge AI, and intelligent robotic systems.
Of particular interest to us is APLUX’s close collaboration with Qualcomm. The company develops technologies that, simply put, give robots and other devices their own “eyes and brains” directly on the device.
This means that perception, language processing, and AI functions can increasingly run locally, with less dependence on the cloud.
Our observation from China:
👉 Competition is increasingly shifting away from hardware alone toward AI, data, software, and real-world application scenarios.
That is exactly why we continue to visit Chinese companies in Humanoid Robotics, Embodied AI, Physical AI, and industrial automation.
Not to celebrate every new demonstration uncritically, but to understand:
🔹 What already works reliably?
🔹 What is still at the demonstration stage?
🔹 And which technologies could become relevant for industrial applications in the future?
