On Saturday, we visited Foshan Lisifeng Robot Automation Technology, a company with many years of experience in industrial automation and system integration.

While many companies in Embodied AI are currently working to develop robots that resemble humans as closely as possible, Lisifeng is taking a different approach:
The focus is not on the robot’s form, but on the industrial task it needs to perform.
The company has introduced STER (SuperBrain Transportable Embodied Robot Artisans), a concept for a flexible robotic technician designed for industrial tasks.
According to the company, the solution is built around three core ideas:
🔹 An intelligent “brain”: A proprietary AI architecture integrates perception, decision-making, natural language interaction, and industrial process knowledge.
🔹 Flexible tools instead of universal hands: Rather than developing a robotic hand that closely mimics the human hand, Lisifeng uses specialized end effectors for specific tasks such as assembly, inspection, and machining.
🔹 Industrial experience as the foundation: Drawing on experience from more than 1,000 automation and custom machinery projects, the company aims to transfer its accumulated process knowledge directly into robotic applications.
Lisifeng’s approach points to one possible direction for Embodied AI: it does not necessarily have to be defined by two legs or a humanoid form. What matters is the integration of AI, automation expertise, and real-world industrial applications.
