The first Sino-German IoT Online Seminar, themed “New Approaches to Intelligent Bearing Monitoring,” was successfully held yesterday.

This online roadshow was jointly organized by the Ningbo IoT Intelligent Technology Application Association, the Ningbo Bearing Industry Association, Anbisheng Technology, and the Sino-Cooperation Platform. Ansgar Tillmann, Co-founder and CEO of HCPsense, was invited as a guest speaker to share insights.

HCPsense Technical Highlights and Application Scenarios

HCPsense focuses on monitoring electrical signals within bearings to enable early fault prevention rather than post-failure detection. Its sensor system can be applied to various standard bearings (except hybrid ceramic bearings) and is suitable for diverse lubrication conditions and industrial scenarios. Core advantages include:

  • Precise Lubrication Monitoring: Identifies boundary lubrication, mixed lubrication, and hydrodynamic lubrication states, enabling early detection of contamination, aging, and insufficient lubrication.
  • Extended Equipment Lifespan: Predicts remaining useful life and detects overload risks, enhancing device safety and stability.
  • Reduced Maintenance Costs: Optimizes lubrication strategies, minimizing downtime and lubricant consumption.
  • Diverse Integration Options: Offers contact-based and non-contact sensor systems adaptable to different device structures and environments.

The technology is based on capacitance and resistance measurements (impedance method) and operates reliably in low-speed, high-vibration, or harsh environments. Application partnerships have been established in agricultural machinery, construction machinery, and food processing equipment, with expansion into wind power and other large-bearing scenarios.

Exchange and Cooperation Intentions Between Chinese and German Entrepreneurs

Chinese and German entrepreneurs engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as “full lifecycle monitoring of bearings,” “lubricant optimization under varying operating conditions,” “measurement stability in harsh environments,” and “feasibility of application in the Chinese market.” The conversations covered both technical principles and case studies, as well as practical implementation paths and cost-benefit assessments in production.

The event not only deepened Chinese companies’ understanding and interest in German sensor technology but also prompted several enterprises to express explicit cooperation intentions immediately afterward. Some have already entered specific discussions with the HCPsense team regarding proof-of-concept (POC) projects, technical adaptability, and economic evaluations, driving cooperation from dialogue to practical implementation.

Jointly Building a New Sino-German Smart Manufacturing Cooperation Landscape

Wang Peng, Secretary-General of the Ningbo IoT Intelligent Technology Application Association, emphasized in his closing remarks that China and Germany benefit from complementary strengths in smart manufacturing and sensor technology: German technology and standardization systems combined with Chinese market demand and implementation speed will advance the deep integration and upgrading of smart manufacturing. The association will continue to build international cooperation platforms to promote technology exchange, joint R&D, talent exchange, and standard development.
